Thugs Attack An Ailing Hero

A 48-year-old man recovering from recent heart surgery is in a stable condition in hospital after being attacked by two youths on Saturday night.
The man, who was visiting a home in the Perth suburb of Karrinyup, went to get some beer from his car when he interrupted a car theft on a friend's vehicle.
Two youths who were trying to break into the vehicle then attacked the man, who suffered an apparent heart attack.
Police spokeswoman Acting Inspector Maria Coyne said Phillip Herbert was able to raise the alarm to other guests at the home.
``He suffered severe beatings to his head and chest," Insp Coyne said.
Mr Herbert also suffered another heart attack in the ambulance on the way to hospital.
